In a bizarre anti-drug operation, Peruvian police disguised themselves as Santa Claus and an elf to capture a suspected cocaine and dope dealer in Lima.

The police agents, who wore flak jackets hidden under their festive outfits, arrived in an undercover van before breaking into the suspect’s house with a large hammer.

The arrest was made in the Villa El Salvador district of Lima, and footage of the raid showed one of the agents yelling, “We are the police, we are the green squad, this is an anti-drug operation,” as the suspect was pinned to the ground and handcuffed.

Peruvian police often use these types of dress-up tactics to surprise drug gangs and successfully carry out raids.

The arrested man had been caught on camera selling drugs near a school, and police found hundreds of small bags of drugs, a revolver, and a balaclava at his home.

Colonel Fredy Velasquez, head of the Grupo Terna drugs squad, said that a significant amount of drugs had been confiscated, including marijuana and basic cocaine paste.

This unusual operation shows that Peruvian police are willing to use creative tactics to combat drug trafficking in their country.
