The Ghanaian Police have done tremendously well after working on a timely basis to intercept three trucks fully loaded with government rail tracks and steel sleepers.
Per our findings, two individuals have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the theft of rail tracks and steel sleepers that belonged to the Ghana Railway Development Authority.
According to news reaching us at Ghanafuo.com, the incident had gone viral on social media, prompting a swift response from the authorities.
The alleged offenders, Ibrahim John and Bashiru Ibrahim per our findings were apprehended while on the move to transport the stolen items to the Ferro Frabrik Ltd. yard in Tema.
The suspects claimed that they had been contracted by the Ministry of Railway Development to transport the items.
The company officials, who were not present at the time, have been asked to assist with the investigation. The Ministry of Railway Development has also been contacted and is expected to report to the police.
The police have reached out to the Ministry of Railway Development, and they are anticipated to meet with the police on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, to aid the investigation.
Furthermore, the police have also assured us they are going to reach the bottom of this issue and put the perpetrators or the accomplices behind bars because this is not the first time such occurrences have taken place in the country.
The three trucks used to transport the stolen items have been impounded and parked at the National Police Training School while the investigation continues. The vehicle registration details of these trucks are as follows; GN 8501 – 15, GT 4705 -15, and GT 6707 -15.
