A suspect in a heist who stabbed a police officer after robbing a woman is helping the police with their investigations.
General Constable Foster Alipoe Ablerh, who pursued and apprehended Francis Addo after he attempted to flee with the GHC2,400.00 and iPhone 14 Pro Max that he claimed to have stolen from a woman named Lovia Narh, was stabbed with a knife.
According to a police brief, on February 12, 2024, at roughly 09:40, General Constable Ablerh of Accra Regional C.T.U., with a deep cut on his left palm, helped victim Narh, an Obundankadi, Ashaley Botwe resident.
Narh also complained of a headache and had bruises on both knees. The suspect, Addo, was then arrested and taken to the Lakeside Community 8 Police Station.
Narh reported that the same day at about 0440 hours suspect Addo, who was riding a blue motorbike attacked her with a knife at Obundankadi, Ashaley Botwe, assaulted and robbed her of GHC2,400.00 and an iPhone 14 pro max valued at GHC18,000.00 whilst on her way to the market.
When the area resident General Constable learned of the heist, he swiftly used his motorcycle to pursue the culprit and apprehend him at Nmai Dzorn, according to the brief.
When the police officer sought to apprehend the guy, the suspect allegedly sliced his left palm with a knife.
Nonetheless, the police officer reportedly overpowered Addo, arrested him, and took him to the station, according to the brief.
It stated that police medical paperwork was given to the complainant and the police officer so they could go to the hospital.
The blue Royal motorcycle with the license plate M-23-GT 3577 and two knives that were taken from the suspect are being held at the station for use as evidence.
