The Ghana Police Service has made a breakthrough in the case of a robbery that targeted students and lecturers of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
Three suspects have been arrested and detained in connection with the incident, which took place on the Odomase-Badu road in the Sunyani West Municipality on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, around 1900 hours.
According to a reliable police source at the Bono Regional Police Command, the arrests were made possible through police intelligence, and investigations are ongoing. The police were able to recover several mobile phones and other valuables from the suspects’ hideouts.
The robbery took place as the victims were returning from a field trip, and one of the suspects was apprehended by police highway patrol teams. Tragically, a student named Abdul Aziz Issah lost his life during the attack, while six other students sustained minor injuries and have since been treated and discharged.
