A plumber, Samuel Etuah, aged 44, has been handed a six-year jail sentence by the Hohoe Circuit Court for the crimes of unlawful entry and theft. The court case took place on November 25, 2023, where Etuah entered a plea of not guilty but was ultimately found guilty and sentenced to prison.

Prosecutor Chief Inspector Charles Aziati shared that the convict had a previous criminal record and was caught stealing from a provision and mobile money business owned by a farmer and businessman. On October 10, 2022, at 0420 hours, Etuah broke into the shop and stole GH¢2,200 in cash. Despite a witness catching him in the act, the convict managed to flee the scene but left behind his mobile phone.

The witness contacted the shop owner, who then reported the incident to the authorities. Through investigations, authorities confirmed that the phone belonged to Etuah, leading to his arrest and subsequent trial. This case serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in criminal activities and the importance of reporting crimes to the police for swift action.

As we reflect on this incident, let us remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities to maintain the safety and security of our communities. Let us all strive to uphold the principles of law and order for a better and more secure society.
