Piers Morgan Uncensored, a new series, is now available to watch online. Watch it on your Roku device via The Roku Channel.

Morgan, as editor of the Daily Mirror, apologized on television for the headline (in upper case) “Surrender, beware! The Euro Championship is over for you, Fritz Ze “on June 25, 1996, a day before England faced Germany in a Euro ’96 football championship semi-final. Morgan’s headline was accompanied by an open letter in which he mocked Neville Chamberlain’s declaration of war on Germany in 1939. “It was meant to be a joke, but anyone who was offended by it must have taken it seriously, and I apologize to those people,” he said. Germany won both the game and the championship at Wembley Stadium in London.

A £16 million investment package in the title began in January, including the removal of “Daily” from the masthead in February, which was later reversed. Morgan’s editorship “has made a huge difference: his enormous enthusiasm, determination, and focus is a major plus,” wrote Roy Greenslade in August 1999.
