Israeli soldiers were seen roughhousing with bicycles near a demolished house in Gaza. The bicycles were left behind by their owners belonged to Palestinian children whose homes were destroyed by Israeli bombings.

The Israeli troops who were captured on camera riding children’s bikes in Gaza were criticized by well-known English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality Piers Morgan on X, formally Twitter saying; “Why do Israeli soldiers keep filming themselves doing this kind of crass, insensitive thing? Why donโ€™t their commanders stop them? Makes them look callous when so many children in Gaza are being killed”.

Since Hamas militants attacked southern Israel on October 7 and killed approximately 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and captured about 240 captives, Israel has been immersed in fierce battle in Gaza.

The Health Ministry in the Hamas-controlled region of Gaza reports that over 18,400 Palestinians have died there, with women and children making up almost two thirds of the dead. Of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, 90% are now internally displaced due to the besieged area. The videos seem to have been uploaded by soldiers themselves during their time in Gaza.

Israeli soldiers searching private residences in Gaza forces smashing plastic figurines in a toy store, or trying to burn food and water supplies in the back of an abandoned truck. Soldiers dancing in a circle, arms thrown over each other, yelling racial slurs.

The Israeli military is experiencing difficulty as a result of numerous widely shared images and videos showing Israeli soldiers acting disrespectfully in Gaza. The military is also facing criticism from around the world for its policies and the growing number of civilian casualties in its harsh campaign against Hamas.

The Israeli army claims there are a few exceptional occurrences, but it has promised to discipline violators. These kinds of videos are not novel nor exceptional. Israeli soldiers as well as members of the American, British, and other armed forces have been shown on camera misbehaving or committing various crimes in conflict areas over the years.
