Philip Green’s parents: Alma Green, and Simon Green
Born on March 15, 1952, in Surrey, England, Philip Green was the son of Simon Green, a successful real estate developer and retailer, and Alma Green, his spouse. Elizabeth is the older of his sisters.
His family moved to the north London suburb of Hampstead Garden when he was a toddler. At the age of nine, he was transferred to Carmel College, an Oxfordshire Jewish residential school. He inherited the family business after his father passed away when he was twelve.
He quit the boarding school after three years. Philip had to take over the family business after his father passed away from a heart attack, which was a tragic event for the Green family.
