Johann Peter Schickele was an American composer, musical educator, and parodist, Schickele died on January 16, 2024, at his home in Bearsville, New York, at the age of 88.

Schickele married Susan Sindall on October 27, 1962, A poet studying dance at Juilliard. Mr. Schickele stopped touring with P.D.Q. Bach in 1991, although he continued making appearances with orchestras.
