Peter Gregory Obi, a politician and businessman, was born on July 19, 1961, in Nigeria. He presided over the state of Anambra from March to November 2006, February to May 2007, and June 2007 to March 2014. Peter Obi was born in the Anambra State city of Onitsha. His secondary education was finished at Christ the King College in Onitsha. He began his studies at the University of Nigeria in 1980, and in 1984 he earned a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy.

He then reversed that statement and said he would instead run on the Labour Party platform. According to the Peoples Gazette, Peter Obi submitted a letter to the party’s leadership on May 24 announcing his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
