Malnati lost his PGA Tour card in 2014 after finishing 178th in the FedEx Cup points list, and he did not reclaim it at the Web.com Tour Finals.
He returned to the Web.com Tour in 2015, winning his second tour title at the Brasil Champions on his way to placing fourth on the regular-season money list and recovering his PGA Tour card for the season.
Malnati won his first PGA Tour event in November 2015, winning the Sanderson Farms Championship by one shot over William McGirt and David Toms following a Monday finish. He scored a five-under-par round of 67 to win by one stroke over a crowded leaderboard. Malnati’s victory earned him a PGA Tour exemption till the end of the 2018 season.
