Peso Pluma cancels Tijuana show amidst death threats from Mexican cartel

Mexican singer Peso Pluma has decided to cancel his upcoming show in Tijuana following death threats from a local cartel.

The threats came to light when banners warning Peso Pluma not to perform in the city on October 14th appeared within Tijuana.

The ominous message stated, “This goes to Peso Pluma, refrain from presenting yourself on October 14 because it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue.”

These threats were attributed to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, an organization based in the singer’s hometown.

Peso Pluma, like many Mexican artists, often incorporates references to drug lords, illegal organizations, and other criminal elements in his music, which may have triggered the cartel’s ire.

In response to these threats, music labels Double P Records and Prajin Music Group issued a joint statement announcing the show’s cancellation.

They cited the safety of fans and the team as their top priority.
