Leslie Samuel Phillips was a British actor. He was born to Cecelia Margaret and Frederick Samuel Phillips on April 20, 1924, in London, United Kingdom.
His father worked at Glover and Main factory. He died at the age of 44 after developing a weak heart and a fatal respiratory condition as a result of breathing the toxins he inhaled at the factory.
He began his acting career during his teen years with a number of stage roles and soon transitioned into films.
The British actor made headlines on a number of occasions for his high-profile relationships. He got married to actress Penelope Bartley in 1948 and the pair seemed to be inseparable for over a decade. They had four children together and Leslie’s career was thriving.
However, the relationship between the two soon deteriorated and by 1965 the pair had finalized their divorce. Penelope Bartley still remained in touch with Leslie for many years until she died at the age of 56.
