Pele, a retired but still well-known former Brazil national football player, was born on October 23, 1940, as Edson Arantes do Nascimento.
He is regarded as the best football player in history. He was a member of the Santos and New York Cosmos teams. His time as a member of the Brazilian national football team was also fruitful. Although he stopped playing in 1977, he continues to represent football around the world and is well-liked in Brazil.
He won nine Sao Paulo State Championships, two World Club Championships, and three World Cups.
