She was the first to screen Nollywood films at foreign film festivals. She was the first person to direct Nigerian afro music duo P-Square’s first music video.

The AMAA boss kept details about her marital life to herself for a long time but she eventually opened up about why her marriage failed in 2010.
According to the late legendary filmmaker walking out of her marriage was one of the most difficult decisions she had to make. She had to turn her back on her ex-husband because she felt she had no other option.
“It was one of the hardest things to do at a particular point. I also remember that my dad said that you must put a value on yourself and be honest with yourself. You shouldn’t lie to yourself and I think that’s the most important thing. I needed to tell myself the truth,” she said during the interview.
She added, “Just that at a point, we needed to go our separate ways. I still respect him a lot because he is one of the best directors I know. I think he’s also a damn good photographer.”
