Cameron Smith of Australia took over Tiger Woods’ spotlight by posting a record halfway total in the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.
After an emotional Woods withdrew from what was almost certainly his final competitive appearance on the Old Course, Smith carded a flawless 64 to finish at 13 under par, one shot better than the previous best, held by Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, and Louis Oosthuizen.
