Paul Westerberg awards
In recognition of his sold-out performances and other significant contributions to the culture at the venerable establishment, Westerberg has been given two stars on the outside mural of Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue.
Westerberg is one of the few musicians to be honoured with several stars, along with the Replacements, who each have a star on the mural. According to writer Steve Marsh, getting a star “may be the most significant public award an artist can receive in Minneapolis.”
On Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time from 2023, Westerberg came in at position 196.
