Paul Ryder siblings: Shaun Ryder
Shaun Ryder was born in Little Hulton, Lancashire, to Linda and Derek. His mother was a nurse and his father was a postman, who later became Happy Mondays’ tour manager.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was a leading figure in the Madchester cultural scene. This was due to his role as the lead singer in his band, Happy Mondays.
However, his struggles with drugs led to the band’s first break-up in 1992. For some time, he was addicted to heroin, which he overcame by cycling.
In 1995 he formed a new band named Black Grape. Its first release, It’s Great When You’re Straight… Yeah, topped the charts. However, later releases did not receive such success, and the band disbanded in 1998.
Later in his life, he also was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Currently, he has six children.
