Patti Smith is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter, and author. She is famous for her best song, Because of the Night, which is co-written with American music producer Bruce Springsteen.
This reached 13 numbers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978 and also number five in the UK. Also, in 2005, Smith was named a Commander of the Orde des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. Also, in 2007, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame title.
