Irish-born Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, a billionaire businessman in the building industry of Indian ancestry, lived between 1929 to 2022. He was the chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group and a major shareholder in the Tata Group, India’s biggest private conglomerate. He was one of the world’s wealthiest people.
In January 2016, the Indian government awarded him the Padma Bhushan in recognition of his contributions to business and industry. A brief biography of Mistry was featured in Manoj Namburu’s 2008 book The Moguls of Real Estate. On June 28, 2022, Mistry, 93, died away in Mumbai.
