Pakize Suda, a veteran journalist, pundit, and artist who had battled dementia for almost six years, has away at the age of 70.
On December 15, Suda experienced a cerebral embolism, and she was receiving medical care in a hospital in the Mula province in the southwest.
“One day she told me that she wanted to forget everything and die,” Elagözlü said.
The deceased columnist’s passing was revealed by her niece, Dilara Elagözlü, who had been appointed Suda’s legal guardian.
Elagözlü recently spoke about Suda’s condition in an interview, claiming that “everything started with forgetting things.”
She was born in 1952 in the Aegean province of Zmir, and she appeared in five TV shows and four motion pictures.
Suda is the host of roughly a dozen TV programs and the writer of two books.
She wrote columns for the daily Hürriyet and the daily Habertürk for many years.
