The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has come under intense pressure in the wake of a further depreciation of the country’s currency, the Ghana Cedi.
In the past weeks, the Ghana Cedi has been performing poorly against major foreign currencies, notably the US Dollar. This has triggered Ghanaians to complain bitterly about the appalling performance of the Ghana Cedi.
On Twitter, a hashtag, #OverToYouBawumia has been trending in the past few hours. The Vice President is being compelled on Twitter to immediately exhibit his competence by arresting the ‘free-falling’ cedi amidst a throwback of some comments he unleashed on the erstwhile NDC administration concerning the Ghana Cedi when he was in opposition.
