Over 1,000 lookalikes of US singer Dolly Parton attempt Guinness World Record

To attempt to break the Guinness World Record and raise money for charity, over 1,100 people dressed as Dolly Parton gathered in Ireland. On June 24, partygoers descended on Listowel, County Kerry, for the Dolly Day celebration to break the record for the largest assembly of people donning a “full head-to-toe Dolly Parton costume.”

They performed the hit song “9 to 5” in unison while decked out to the nines as Dolly Parton impersonators and admirers, replete with cowboy boots, rhinestone-covered costumes, and blonde curly wigs. The Kerry Hospice Foundation, which supports and funds palliative care services in Kerry, and Comfort for Chemo Kerry, which is helping to raise money for a new chemotherapy facility for the neighbourhood, received the earnings from the celebrations.

Additionally, money was raised for a nearby cancer charity during the Irish event.
