OVC Connexion Ghana increases read, feed and lead target

OVC Connexion To guarantee that all children in the country receive an education, Ghana, a non-governmental organization, has precisely expanded its Read, Feed, and Lead program. Their main focus is the literacy level of the children.

The project, however, which initially covered about 50 children at Ekon in the Cape Coast Metropolis, has been increased to 80 to help improve both reading and learning skills among the children.

However, it was noted that the team would arrange 40 weekly sessions during the implementation of the entire project, which would have included reading, math tutorials, and operations. Additionally, beneficiaries would have received free exercise books, notebooks, and other pertinent materials like shoes and uniforms.

In an interview, Mr. Isaac Okpoti Tsakley, the Central Regional Coordinator, cautioned students to make sure they take lessons seriously and even reminded their parents of their responsibilities to support and assist them in learning new skills as they are taught.

He also emphasized literacy and numeracy, which are the first and foremost things every learner should take into great consideration when ascertaining the best lessons in education.

Meanwhile, that formed the core of the Read, Fees, and Lead program while developing community leadership among most of the learners.

Mr. Tsakley indicated strongly that the focus of Read, Fees, and Lead is to move teaching and learning ahead and away from the hostile environment.

Stakeholders were called to come on board to assist the government in improving education for development in Ghana.
