The King of Asante Kotoko, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his disappointment with the recent poor performances of the team.

In a meeting held at Manyhia on Thursday, April 18, Otumfuo made it clear that such performances are unacceptable.

Otumfuo went as far as to warn the team that he would not hesitate to dissolve Kotoko if the poor form continues and leads to relegation. “I will personally call the GFA to dissolve Kotoko before you take the club to relegation,” he said.

Asante Kotoko has been struggling in their last seven games, having lost six and only managed to secure one draw. This unfortunate run of results has put the team dangerously close to the relegation zone, with just three points separating them.

In a bid to turn things around, Asante Kotoko is set to face off against Samartex FC in a Week 27 encounter this weekend. The match will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm.

Ahead of the crucial game, Otumfuo has charged the team to deliver a victory and start climbing up the table. The King’s message is clear – poor performances will not be tolerated, and the players need to step up their game to avoid any drastic measures.
