Betty Mould-Iddrisu, a former Attorney-General, has expressed her confidence in the newly appointed running mate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Mould-Iddrisu, the selection of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will attract more votes for the NDC in the upcoming elections, with the party needing half a million votes to secure victory.

Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues with Kemminin Amanor, Mould-Iddrisu emphasized that Prof Opoku-Agyemang has the capability to garner a significant number of votes for the party. She praised the timely announcement of the running mate, stating that it has bolstered the party’s confidence in achieving victory.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was unveiled as the running mate on April 24 at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). In her address, she assured that corrupt officials of the current government would be held accountable if the NDC emerges victorious in the elections.

Mould-Iddrisu also highlighted the importance of consensus building in governance, stating that it is crucial for sustainable peace and progress. She stressed the need to strengthen institutions and combat corruption, promising a better future if the NDC assumes power.

The appointment of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang has been praised by many within the party, with Haruna Iddrisu commending her integrity. The focus now shifts to the upcoming elections on December 7, with the NDC aiming to address issues of corruption and ensure accountability in government institutions.

As the campaign season heats up, the NDC is positioning itself as a party that prioritizes justice, accountability, and the protection of national assets.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s nomination, coupled with the party’s anti-corruption stance, sets the stage for a competitive election season with a clear focus on good governance and progress for the country.
