Spanish-Swiss actress Oona Castilla Chaplin was born on June 4th, 1986. She performed the roles of Talisa Maegyr in the HBO television series Game of Thrones, Zilpha Geary in the Taboo television series, and Kitty Trevelyan in the BBC drama The Crimson Field.
She is related to the Chaplin family; she is the granddaughter of English actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, the great-granddaughter of Irish-American poet Eugene O’Neill, and the daughter of actress Geraldine Chaplin. In honor of her maternal grandmother, Charlie Chaplin’s fourth and last wife, she was given the name Oona O’Neill.
Since graduating from RADA, Chaplin has acted in mainly British and Spanish short and feature films. In the films Anchor and Hope, Imago Mortis, Para qué sirve un oso, and Inconceivable, she co-starred with her mother.
She has also had supporting roles in American and British television. In the ITV series Married Single Other (2010), she portrayed a Brazilian cage dancer. She also portrayed John Watson’s girlfriend in an episode of BBC’s Sherlock and Talisa Maegyr in HBO’s Game of Thrones (2012–2013).
