Meet Omid Djalili, a 57-year-old, Iranian-British actor, comedian, and writer, was born on September 30, 1965, in Chelsea, London England.

Omid’s first significant stand-up comedy performance was at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995, where he performed the “Short, Fat Kebab Shop Owner’s Son,” and then “The Arab and the Jew” with Jewish comedian Ivor Dembina in 1996.

Following that, he has performed in numerous countries, including Australia, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Canada, and the United States, where he had his own HBO Special.

Omid Djalili has featured in many films. He is most notable for movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, Mean Machine, The World Is Not Enough, Alien Autopsy, Spy Game, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Grow Your Own, Notting Hill, Mr Nice, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Sex and the City 2 and provides his voice in Over the Hedge.

Omid has also recently starred in the Netflix Global drama The Letter for the King as Sir Fantumar and the HBO/BBC series His Dark Materials.

It is worth noting that Omid was also part of the 2018 line-up for ITV’s “We Are Most Amused and Amazed”, (a televised celebration for The Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday.)
