In Liverpool, a man has been detained on suspicion of the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
During an armed police operation yesterday night, the suspect, from the Huyton district of Merseyside, was also detained on two charges of attempted murder.
Detectives from Merseyside Police are currently questioning him in prison.
This comes after repeated public calls for the individual responsible for Olivia’s death to come forward.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday night, a balaclava-clad shooter chased another guy inside the schoolgirl’s house in Liverpool.
As Olivia’s mother Cheryl Korbel tried to slam the door shut on Kingsheath Avenue in Knotty Ash, the murderer shoved his hand through it and fired fire.
Ms Korbel was shot in the wrist, and the same bullet fatally struck her daughter in the chest as she stood directly behind her.
The shooter fired two more rounds at the intended victim, Joseph Nee age 35, before fleeing on foot.
Just moments ago, Nee broke in the front door when Olivia’s mother opened it in response to a ruckus outside in the street, where the shooter was pursuing Nee and another guy.
Convicted burglar Nee, who was wounded in the upper torso, was transported to the hospital by accomplices in a black Audi Q3 following the incident and is in stable condition.
Nee will be sent to prison for allegedly violating the terms of his parole.
