Oklahoma sheriff’s deputy dies after being shot while serving order at home

We are saddened to announce the sudden demise of a sheriff’s deputy from Oklahoma –  a state in the South Central region of the United States.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, August 22, 2022, the sheriff’s deputy who has been identified as Sgt. Bobby Swartz died after being shot while serving a lockout order at a home.

This was made known to the general public in a press conference and a Facebook post.

According to Sheriff Tommie Johnson III who spoke during a press conference, two deputies were shot while on duty. One deputy was shot and a second deputy was hit while trying to get the first out of the way of gunfire.

“Today, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of a good man. Two of our deputies were shot while serving a lockout order.

One deputy succumbed to his injuries; the other is in stable condition. We plan to release more details soon. Until then please keep us in your prayers,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.

According to Authorities, the suspect after the incident took off on a pursuit and was taken into police custody.
