Octavia Lenora Spencer, an American actress, was born on May 25, 1970. She is the first black actress to gain two back-to-back Oscar nominations thanks to the multiple awards she has received, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
Spencer made her acting debut in the 1996 thriller A Time to Kill. Her big break came in 2011 when she starred in The Help as a maid in 1960s America. She won numerous awards for the role, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
After ten years of supporting roles in movies and television, this happened. For her performance in Ryan Coogler’s biopic Fruitvale Station, she won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2013.
