The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is currently holding a primary in the Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti Region. A total of 1,081 delegates are participating in the voting process to choose a replacement for the late incumbent MP, Dr. John Kumah, who passed away at the age of 45 after a brief illness.

There are nine contenders in the race, including Kwasi Nyantakyi Kwabena Boateng, Dr. Evans Duah, Klinsman Karikari Mensah, Helena Mensah, Abena Pokuaa Boaitey, Portia Acheampong Abronye, Aaron Prince Duah, and Maame Yaa Aboagye.

Of the 1,081 delegates, 63.18% are male and 36.82% are female. There are a total of nine candidates, with five male candidates and four female candidates vying for the parliamentary seat.

The primary was deemed necessary due to the unfortunate passing of Dr. John Kumah, leading to a competitive race among the nine aspirants. Each candidate brings their unique qualifications and vision for the Ejisu Constituency, making this primary a crucial event for the NPP and the constituents.
