NPP opens nominations for Sunyani East parliamentary primary

The party held parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024, in which the Sunyani East Constituency and five other constituencies did not take part.

For its parliamentary primary in the Bono Region’s Sunyani East constituency, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally started accepting nominations. The window for nominations opened on Wednesday, February 14, and closes on Saturday, February 17.

The NPP laid out the process for potential parliamentary candidates in a statement that was signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong. A non-refundable application fee is required, and the nomination forms are priced at GH₵3,000. A non-refundable filing fee of GH₵35,000 is required for the nomination process.

Women, youth, and people with disabilities are eligible for a 50% discount on their filing fees. The statement also stated that all aspirants, except the incumbent Member of Parliament, will be required to pay an additional GH₵40,000 in party development fees.

The Sunyani East constituency, along with five other constituencies, did not participate in the party’s parliamentary primaries held on January 27, 2024.
