The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is allegedly more concerned with winning another term in office than with actually serving the people of the country, according to Tamale Central Member of Parliament Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
As the NPP’s deputy director of external affairs and Bosome Freho parliamentary candidate, Nana Kwame Asafo-Agyei Ayeh spoke, she was optimistic that the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team would end the eight-year cycle. In response, Murtala Mohammed welcomed the competition but chastised the party for its priorities.
Ayeh emphasized the experience of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team as a crucial component of success during an interview on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily.
Murtala Mohammed replied that he understood the competition but was troubled by the NPP’s lack of focus on solving the nation’s economic problems.
Mohammed said, “It is interesting and Ghanaians should be concerned that the NPP is not interested in bringing the economy back to life—an economy they have destroyed and ground to zero—instead of focusing on breaking the eight. That is, in my opinion, legendary in a very bad way.
He believes that the NPP’s goals are off, with a greater emphasis on securing electoral victories than addressing the country’s economic problems.
