The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all party members not to comment on the ongoing disputes between the political party and the Manhyia Palace.

The call to silence comes amid a heated radio debate in the Ashanti Region over alleged disparaging remarks made about Manhyia Palace by the Ashanti Regional NPP Chair, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.

During a press conference in Kumasi on Monday, January 22, 2024, NPP general secretary Justin Koduah stated that the party’s leadership is actively working on the issue. The directive’s goal is to reduce tensions and maintain internal cohesion during this time of controversy.

Furthermore, the NPP stated its determination to complete stalled projects in the Ashanti region. Kodua stated that the Kumasi International Airport would be completed before the second quarter of the year.

“Before the end of the second quarter, the Kumasi International Airport will be commissioned for flights to move from outside Ghana to the Kumasi International Airport.” The Boankra Inland Port and other regional projects are also moving forward.

Approximately 400 people obtained forms in preparation for the NPP’s upcoming parliamentary race, 376 of whom were vetted.

Despite the ongoing controversies, the party intends to prioritize internal processes and regional development initiatives.
