Canadian poet, writer, literary critic, and essayist Normand de Bellefeuille has passed away. He died on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the age of 74.

Normand de Bellefeuille was born to his parents on December 31, 1949, and was raised in Montreal, Canada. He studied at Cégep de Maisonneuve and the University of Montreal. In 1972, he was a professor at the Cégep de Maisonneuve. He was literary director at Québec America from 1997 to 2010 and at Éditions Druide. He appeared at Blue Metropolis.
Normand de Bellefeuille was a two-time winner of the Governor General’s Award for French-language poetry, winning at the 2000 Governor General’s Awards for The Blind Man’s Walk Without His Dog and at the 2016 Governor General’s Awards for The Poem is a House of Edge sea.
