Surrounded by family, Barzman passed away at her Beverly Hills home from natural causes, according to her daughter Suzo Barzman, who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter.
After being reared in both the United States and Europe, Barzman traveled to Hollywood on her 21st birthday. She was born Norma Levor in New York City on September 15, 1920. She had already dropped out of Radcliffe after two years there and lived in Princeton, New Jersey, for a year as the young bride of Claude Shannon, who would go on to become regarded as “the father of information theory,” prior to their 1941 divorce.
