American politician Noreen Kokoruda was born on August 4, 1947, and passed away on December 21, 2022.
She represented Connecticut’s 101st district in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2021. After narrowly defeating him in 2018, she lost her bid for reelection to Democratic challenger John-Michael Parker in 2020.
Kokoruda has a wide range of professional experience, including serving as executive director of The Shoreline Foundation for 14 years, chairing the Beach and Recreation Commission for 9 years, and serving on the Madison Board of Selectmen, and the Commission for Community Service. In 2012, Kokoruda ran for Connecticut House of Representatives District 101. Kokoruda ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012. On November 6, 2012, she crushed David Dwyer (D) in the overall political race.
Kokoruda ran for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives in 2016 with success. During that election season, Kokoruda raised a total of $6,140.
Currently serving as a state representative is Madison selectwoman Noreen Kokoruda. She took the secretary of state’s oath of office while standing on the floor of the State House three days after she won the special election to fill the 101st District House seat by a margin of 599 votes on February 22.
