Nolan Turner (born November 29, 1997) is a National Football League safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He attended Clemson University and played college football there.
Turner grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Vestavia Hills High School. As a senior, he had 63 tackles and five interceptions. Turner chose Alabama, his father’s alma mater, as a walk-on over an offer from UAB and Troy. He later committed to Clemson after receiving a late offer from head coach Dabo Swinney, a former college teammate of his father’s, after two safeties de-committed from the school.
Turner played six seasons of collegiate football at Clemson, including a redshirt as a true freshman. He had 66 tackles, six tackles for loss, and three interceptions as a redshirt senior and was chosen second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference and second-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
Turner decided to return to Clemson for a sixth season, taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes who competed in the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic. In his final season, he had 69 tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, three passes were broken up, one interception, and a forced fumble.
