Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ink Boy, is calling out rapper Sarkodie for allegedly not paying him royalties for his feature on the song ‘One Million Cedis’ from Sarkodie’s ‘Jamz’ album.
The song, ‘One Million Cedis,’ was released in November 2022 and featured Ink Boy. However, despite the song being out for a year, he claims he has not received any royalties from Sarkodie.
In a series of posts on social media, Ink Boy expressed his frustration, stating that he has reached out to Sarkodie’s management multiple times but has not received any payment.
“I made this song and gave it the title one million cedi and all I get now is hate from Sarkodie fans cos I’m not allowed to call him out? As a bigger person is one year not enough time to do what is right? I won’t let this slide give me my royalties,” he wrote.
Ink Boy also took to Twitter to address Sarkodie directly, saying, “King @sarkodie what you are doing is not good at all. I place high regard on your name but it’s seem you prefer me calling you out and people saying I’m ungrateful. Pls give me my royalties for one million cedi it’s long overdue Haba you be legend o nawa.”
Sarkodie had previously acknowledged Ink Boy’s contribution to the song, crediting him with coming up with the title ‘One Million Cedis.’ However, Sarkodie’s team is yet to comment on the recent allegations made by Ink Boy regarding unpaid royalties.
As the case unfolds, fans are eagerly awaiting a response from Sarkodie and his team regarding the payment of royalties to Ink Boy for his involvement in ‘One Million Cedis.’
