A 24-year-old Nigerian man has broken a world record by continuously playing a soccer video game for more than three days. Oside Oluwole, also known as “Khoded,” set a new record with a time of 75 hours, surpassing the previous record of 50 hours set by Englishman David Whitefoot in 2022. Oluwole achieved this feat by playing over 500 matches of the mobile game Dream League Soccer 2023 on his iPhone, which he connected to a TV screen.
This extraordinary accomplishment was shared on the website of the Guinness World Record (GWR), which confirmed Oluwole’s achievement. Oside Oluwole holds a degree in biochemistry and works as a car dealer. He attempted this record to raise funds for a local hospital in his hometown of Ijebu Ode.
Unlike the previous record holders who played FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer, Oluwole opted for the free-to-play soccer sim Dream League Soccer 2023. He adhered to the rules of GWR for ‘longest marathon’ records, taking five minutes of rest after each hour of gaming for eating, napping, or using the toilet.
After completing the record attempt, Oluwole received congratulations from a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Seun Adesanya, who praised his dedication and determination. Oluwole’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and practice, setting a new benchmark in the gaming world.
Inspired by his success, Oluwole plans to set more world records in the future by playing soccer video games, including using consoles for FIFA and PES series. This record-breaking feat showcases Oluwole’s passion for gaming and his determination to push boundaries in the world of video games.
