Nicolas Pepe has officially signed a season-long loan agreement with Nice, according to Arsenal.
The Ivory Coast international was signed by the Gunners for £72 million three years ago, shattering their previous transfer record.
Pepe made 15 goals and seven assists in his first two Premier League seasons, yet he has never fully lived up to that price tag.
However, the winger was only given 951 minutes in 23 appearances in all competitions in 2021–22, relegating him to a bit-part position.
The 27-year-old, who has two years left on his contract, has spent the summer feeling somewhat at a crossroads in his Arsenal career, with the prospect that he will move somewhere always present.
After agreeing to terms for a loan move, Pepe has been given permission by Arsenal to play football once more in France with Nice.
Pepe returns to the Ligue 1 league, where he previously made 38 goals and 17 assists in just 107 appearances, performance that led to his 2019 transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
