Nicolás Hernán Gonzalo Otamendi (born 12 February 1988) is an Argentine professional footballer who currently plays as a centre back for Benfica in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and for Argentina’s national team.
Otamendi started his career with Vélez Sarsfield and Porto, where he won eight major titles, including three Primeira Liga titles and the 2011 Europa League. He joined Valencia in 2014 and spent four months on loan with Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro. He joined Manchester City in 2015, where he went on to win the Premier League in 2017-18 and 2018-19, as well as four League Cups and an FA Cup.
