American rapper Nicki Minaj found herself in a bit of a predicament at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, as reported by local media outlets.
The situation seemed tense as Minaj recorded part of her encounter with the police and shared it on social media.
In the video, a police officer can be heard telling Minaj that she was under arrest. The Dutch police spokesperson, Robert van Kapel, confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old American woman at the airport for possession of soft drugs, although the woman’s identity was not revealed.
A statement from the Dutch police agency further confirmed that the woman was still in custody on Saturday evening. Minaj took to social media to express her frustration, mentioning that her luggage was taken without her consent and pointing out that Amsterdam is known for its legal stance on weed.
The rapper was reportedly en route to Manchester for a concert at the Co-op Live venue, but the arrest seemed to have disrupted her plans. Despite the delay in the concert’s start, it was uncertain whether Minaj would make it on stage as scheduled.
