Cologne is the hometown of professional golfer Nick Bachem, a German. The European Tour, which is currently called the DP World Tour, is his current circuit. Nick played on the Pro-Golf Tour as an amateur and won three times before turning pro in 2021.
Nick took up golf at a very young age and went on to have a very successful amateur career. Among the high points of his amateur career in 2018 were finishing T19 at the Irish Amateur Open, T30 at the French Amateur Stroke Play, and T37 at the European Amateur. In 2019, he finished T36 at the Lytham Trophy and third at the Dutch Amateur.

In 2023, he has already achieved several notable accomplishments, including a T18 at the SDC Championship and a T19 at the Hero Indian Open.
On Sunday, March 24, 2023, Nick won his first professional title at The Club at Steyn City after defeating South African Hennie Du Plessis in four rounds at the Jonsson Workwear Open on the DP World Tour.
