Ghanaian afrobeats musician LeFlyyy is about to end the year on a grand note after disclosing his much anticipated EP, titled ‘RESET’, is ready to hit all streaming platforms.
After months of intense preparations, steady mixing and mastering and doubling down on sound and lyricism, the ‘My Baby’ hitmaker is ready to take his fans through a smooth transition into 2014.
He told Ghanafuo.com in an exclusive interview that the 5-track project was inspired by rebranding and new sound. He says he’s restarting afresh with a new sound and from scratch with a new management team.
The old LeFlyyy is officially dropped, and a new one is hatched. He is pressing the ‘reset button’ on his career.
“RESET was inspired by my new brand. I’m starting over from scratch, with a new team, and it’s a turnover from my old style of making music into a new phenomenon,” he said.
“I’ll bring along new people into the mix to work and focus on finding my sound. It’s me pressing the reset button on my music career. There will be a new perspective of me from the business side to the artistic side; introducing new songs, flows, cadences and incorporating other languages into my sound.”
“I didn’t use my French eloquence to my advantage in the past, but now I’ll incorporate the French with Ga, Twi, English and Pidgin. I have managed to make it to work, perfected it, and created my sound called ‘AfroFrancophone’” he continued.
Though LeFlyyy spent almost a year completing his latest project, he refused to feature any artist on it.
His reason? He wants to show his fans what he’s made of. And since it’s his debut project, he wants fans to feel his versatility, growth and progress over the years. In a nutshell, it’s an exclusive project that will allow him to have a direct intimacy with his fans.
“In the past, I featured quite a lot of artists and have a good amount of features under my belt,” he said, “but the reason why we chose not to do any feature for this EP was because it’s my first ever project/body of work.”
He continued: “I wanted the fans to focus on my sound and my versatility as an artist/entertainer and what I can bring to my fans as a solo artist as a whole.”
He said his fans should anticipate ‘infectious rhythms, soulful melodies, and uplifting lyrics’ from the EP on Friday, December 1.
The EP will be available on all streaming platforms globally.
