MLS side New England Revolution is on the brink of securing the services of Ghanaian defensive midfielder Baba Iddrisu from La Liga club Mallorca, according to reports from Spanish news outlet Relevo.

Although negotiations are still in progress and no official agreement has been finalized, New England Revolution is actively working to complete the deal before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

Baba Iddrisu, who is currently playing on loan for Almeria from Mallorca, started his Spanish football journey back in January 2014 when he joined RCD Mallorca’s youth setup from CD Leganés. The midfielder netted his first professional goal on October 31, 2021, in a 1-1 draw against Cádiz CF.

With over 100 appearances for Mallorca’s first team under his belt, Iddrisu made the move to Almeria on a season-long loan on August 10, 2023, with a buyout clause included in the agreement. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2,500,000.

During the current La Liga season, Baba Iddrisu has featured in 24 matches, showcasing his consistency and reliability as a defensive midfielder.
