The capital city of Ghana, Accra, is making strides in becoming a more sustainable and green city.
With the launch of a new waste management program, residents are encouraged to properly dispose of their garbage and participate in recycling efforts.
The program, which was officially launched last week, aims to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and promote a cleaner environment for all residents. Waste segregation and recycling bins have been set up in various neighborhoods, making it easier for people to separate their recyclable materials from their regular waste.
In addition to the waste management program, the city has also implemented initiatives to promote green spaces and sustainable transportation. Accra now has more parks and public gardens for residents to enjoy, as well as designated lanes for cyclists and pedestrians.
