Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, the Head of Public Relations and Strategy for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is encouraging football professionals to actively seek out and take advantage of opportunities within the football industry.

Speaking at the Sports Business Series during the ongoing All Stars Festival in Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region, Armstrong-Mortagbe emphasized the need for football professionals to stop lamenting the lack of resources and instead focus on effectively presenting themselves to potential supporters within their communities.

“We often find ourselves complaining about the lack of resources to achieve our football goals. However, there are individuals and organizations in our midst who are willing to support us if we approach them in the right way. The key is to be intentional in our approach, and success will surely follow,” he stated.

Addressing students and other football professionals in attendance, Armstrong-Mortagbe stressed the importance of taking education seriously and engaging with people and information sources to discover career opportunities in sports, especially in football.

“We waste time on unproductive activities and then claim there are no clear paths in sports management. If we actively seek out career opportunities in football and sports, we will find them,” he asserted.

Armstrong-Mortagbe encouraged all participants of the seminar, as well as those watching online, to recognize their unique positions within the industry and work diligently towards making a positive impact in their chosen careers.

“It is my strong belief that each of us can, and must, find our niche within the industry and strive to make a significant impact in that space,” he stressed.

The Sports Business Series is a segment of the All Stars Festival organized by the BAC Group. This year marks the third edition of the event, which took place at the University of Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana.
