Edward Miner Lamont Jr. (born January 3, 1954) is an American businessman and politician who currently serves as Connecticut’s 89th governor. He has been in this role since January 9, 2019. He was a Democrat who served as a Greenwich selectman from 1987 to 1989.
In 2006, he ran for the United States Senate, defeating incumbent Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary but losing in the general election to Lieberman, who ran as an independent candidate.
